Harmony Privacy Policy
License: [CC-BY-SA]
This is your briefing on what intel we collect, how we handle it, and what we do with it.
We believe privacy is a mission-critical principle, not just a checkbox.
What We Collect
When you register, post, or interact with Harmony, we collect:
- Your name and email (if you register)
- Your IP address when you post
- Standard server logs (IP, request data, timestamps)
- Metadata from your activity (views, likes, replies)
We may verify your email address via a unique link. If you click it, we know it’s yours.
No registration? No problem—you can still read. But you’ll need an account to contribute.
Why We Collect It
We use the data to:
- Personalize your experience
- Improve the forum’s ops and user experience
- Respond to support requests
- Send optional alerts or messages you opt into
We don’t use your data for shady ad targeting or weird marketing pipelines.
How We Protect It
We follow security best practices to protect your data in transit and at rest.
No system is bulletproof, but we aim for military-grade minimalism.
Data Retention
We keep the essentials and ditch the rest.
- IP logs and request data are kept no longer than 90 days (Discourse default).
- Content you’ve posted remains unless you or HQ deletes it.
Cookies
Yes, we use cookies. They help us:
- Remember your session
- Associate your browser with your account
- Analyze traffic and performance
We work with trusted analytics partners. They get aggregate data only—no personal info. No cookie espionage.
Sharing With Third Parties
We don’t sell or trade your data. Ever.
We only share it with trusted allies (like infrastructure or support partners) who are bound by confidentiality and use it only to support operations.
We may disclose data if legally required—or to protect the safety and integrity of the network.
Non-personal aggregate data may be shared for research or platform improvement.
Third-Party Links
Sometimes we link out to external tools, resources, or content.
Those sites have their own privacy protocols. We’re not responsible for their ops, but we welcome feedback if you find something sketchy.
Children’s Privacy (COPPA)
You must be 13 years or older to operate in this space.
If you’re under 13, log off. We don’t knowingly collect or store data from minors.
Scope of Policy
This policy applies only to data collected on this site, its sister Discord server, and our Fibery back-end platform.
Offline interactions, if any, are governed by separate terms.
Consent
By using this site, you agree to the terms in this Privacy Policy.
Continued use = continued consent.
Policy Updates
We may update this policy. When we do:
- We’ll post changes here
- Major changes may trigger a site-wide alert or email notification (if you’re registered)
Stay sharp and review updates as they come. Your continued use means you’re still on board.
